IoT, Data Mining, Big Data, Predictive Analytics, and Machine Learning all are hot and related topics. Understanding Machine Learning concepts and how they can be applied is an incredibly important skill for developers to have. Why? Because, increasingly, machine learning is eating the world. It is a powerful artificial intelligence tool that enables us to dig through petabytes of data and make sense of a complicated world. And it’s transforming a wide variety of industries. It’s solving previously unsolved problems.
At our Nov 15th, 2016 meeting, Ed Maillet will provide an introduction to the basics of Machine Learning along with examples of real world applications. He’ll survey the current range of Microsoft offerings and their new mission of “the democratization of artificial intelligence.”
Finally, he’ll show how it can all be leveraged from C# applications to build smarter apps for the future.
Ed Maillet is a Machine Learning enthusiast and has been developing software for over 20 years from embedded systems to large distributed applications. He is a thesis short of a Master’s Degree in Computer Science. He is currently a Senior Software Engineer for Unum Group and wanna be soil scientist. When not programming, Ed can be found wrangling chickens in Simpsonville, South Carolina.
