Programmer Uses .Net Identity and You Won’t Believe What Happens Next – Mar 15 Meeting

At our meeting tomorrow evening, Jonathan Peterson will be presenting “Programmer Uses .Net Identity and You Won’t Believe What Happens Next”

At some point around 2005 Microsoft released Membership. Remember when you had to right click on the project in Visual Studio to launch the admin portal?

Eleven years later we’ve gone from Membership to SimpleMembership, Identity, and Identity 2 and Identity 3 is expected soon™.

You work with Identity and everything flows really well and is much improved over previous membership providers, until one day… Until one day you have to do something different from the out-of-the-box experience. In this talk Jonathan Peterson will show some of the pains of using Identity, how he ripped it apart, and how he put it back together again to work in an IoC and n-layer application.
